Jon Tester Endorsed by Montana Alliance for Retired Americans
At a Labor Day event, Jon was honored with an award recognizing his lifetime of work standing up for Montana’s seniors
BILLINGS – At a Labor Day picnic hosted by the Montana AFL-CIO, third-generation dirt farmer and U.S. Senator Jon Tester received an award and was named a 2024 Retiree Hero from the Montana Alliance for Retired Americans, honoring his work to stand up for working Montana families and defend critically important retirement benefits like Social Security and Medicare.
The Montana Alliance for Retired Americans also announced their endorsement of Jon in his reelection to the U.S. Senate.
“Senator Tester stands up for Montana seniors everyday – and has delivered for us. He’s lowered the cost of living, held criminals who attempt to scam older Montanans accountable, and increased access to quality, affordable health care. Tester has spent his career fighting to protect Medicare and Social Security, and he’ll always protect the hard-earned benefits that provide a secure retirement for Montana seniors,” said Jay Reardon, Montana Alliance for Retired Americans President. “Nobody fights harder or delivers more for older Montanans and working families than Senator Tester. From taking on the big pharmaceutical companies to save Montanans money on their prescription drugs, to relentlessly defending our hard-earned retirements, Jon Tester never shies away from a fight. Montana seniors are lucky to have him in our corner.”
“I am honored to stand alongside the Montana Alliance for Retired Americans to defend Montana’s seniors,” said Senator Jon Tester. “As long as I am in the U.S. Senate, I will never cut Social Security – full stop. In the face of so many attacks from politicians across the country, it’s more important than ever to fight to protect Social Security and Medicare, fight to lower prescription drug costs, and pass new laws defending seniors and their families from scammers. I will never stop fighting for Montana seniors and to protect the earned benefits that provide a dignified retirement.”
Jon Tester has a strong record of fighting for our seniors and defending Social Security. Jon strongly opposes any plan to sunset Social Security, gut funding for Medicare, or fully privatize the health care system. Jon is willing to work with anyone in Congress, Democrats, Republicans, or Independents to make sure Montana’s seniors receive the benefits and health care they earned so they can enjoy their retirement years.
