Montana Conservation Voters (MCV) Endorses Jon Tester for U.S. Senate

October 19, 2023

BILLINGS – Today, Montana Conservation Voters (MCV) endorsed Big Sandy dirt farmer Jon Tester in his reelection campaign for U.S. Senate.

“Montana Conservation Voters is an organization that gets the job done through its tireless work to keep Montana the Last Best Place,” said Senator Jon Tester. “It’s because of work like yours that we’re going to pass common sense solutions for Montana like the Blackfoot Clearwater Stewardship Act. I’m proud of this endorsement, and I’ll continue to stand with Montanans as we fight to protect our public lands and ensure future generations enjoy our clean air and water.”

“Jon Tester’s story is one that reflects the heart and soul of Montana and his record speaks for itself,” said MCV Executive Director Whitney Tawney. “Team MCV is proud to endorse Senator Tester’s reelection as our first endorsement for 2024. His leadership has had a profound impact on the lives of Montanans and our nation, and we have every confidence that his continued service will only bring greater prosperity and progress to our state.”

Jon Tester has a strong record of fighting for our public lands and Montana’s outdoor economy. Jon’s Blackfoot Clearwater Stewardship Act, which protects thousands of acres of Montana public lands and secures access to outdoor recreation, is currently moving through the Senate with bipartisan support. Jon has successfully protected public lands access and the outdoor recreation economy across the state – including permanently reauthorizing the Land and Water Conservation Fund, which funds and invests in Montana’s outdoor economy without using taxpayer dollars, and getting his Yellowstone Gateway Protection Act signed into law, which protected 30,000 acres of public lands outside Yellowstone National Park from industrial mining.

In July, Jon was endorsed by the League of Conservation Voters (LCV).
