Tester Campaign Raises Record $5 million in First Fundraising Report

April 11, 2023

BILLINGS – Montanans for Tester announced a record fundraising haul of over $5 million in the first fundraising quarter of his reelection campaign, the highest-ever first quarter fundraising performance by a U.S. Senate campaign in Montana history. Senator Tester announced his plans to seek reelection on February 22nd and in the following month record-setting numbers of Montanans from across the state have contributed to show their support for his reelection efforts. Over 96% of the money raised this quarter was received after Sen. Tester launched his reelection campaign.

“I’m humbled by the enormous support our campaign has received from across the state and from hardworking Montanans, like our teachers, veterans, and farmers,” said Senator Jon Tester. “This grassroots effort, that spans every corner of the state – from Miles City to Dillon – is what this campaign is about: defending Montana values.”

The groundswell of support after Tester announced his reelection bid shows the enthusiasm that Montanans have for their Senator from Big Sandy.

His record fundraising report highlights grassroots support:

  • Over 7,600 donations from across Montana
  • Over 95% of all donations were under $100
  • Since Tester announced reelection nearly half of Montana donors gave more than once
  • Over 96% raised in only 5 weeks

Just a few weeks ago, Jon Tester announced that he would seek reelection in 2024 to defend Montana values. Tester, the U.S. Senate’s only working farmer is “known for working across the aisle” and has been recognized for doing “what many other Democrats haven’t been able to do – win in rural conservative states.”
