Montana Rural Voters Endorses Jon Tester for U.S. Senate

Campaign News July 31, 2024

Jon knows rural Montana values because he lives them every day

BILLINGS – Today, Montana Rural Voters endorsed third-generation dirt farmer from Big Sandy, Jon Tester, in his reelection campaign for U.S. Senate.

“We are proud to endorse Senator Jon Tester for another term representing Montana in the U.S. Senate,” said Richard Parks, President of Montana Rural Voters. “Jon Tester understands rural America because he lives it. As a third-generation dirt farmer who lives in a town of hundreds, not thousands, Jon knows what rural Montana communities need and relentlessly fights for us every day. There is no one better than the man from Big Sandy to be a voice for rural Montana.”

“Too many folks in Washington don’t have a clue about the challenges facing rural America,” said Senator Jon Tester. “Maryland’s problems aren’t the same as Montana’s, and I’ll stand up to anyone to ensure that rural America gets a seat at the table. I’m glad to be fighting alongside Montana Rural Voters to defend family agriculture, protect rural health care, and crush the one-size-fits-all rules coming out of D.C. that don’t work for Montana.”

Jon knows rural America because he’s from rural America. As a third-generation Montana dirt farmer and a United States Senator, Jon has seen firsthand how disconnected folks in Washington are from the challenges facing rural America, and he’ll always fight for commonsense solutions that work for Montana – from investing in rural infrastructure, to fighting for our family farms and ranchers, to keeping our rural hospitals open.

Montana Rural Voters works to defend and elect candidates who will champion rural issues, like family agriculture, mandatory Country Of Origin Labeling (COOL), and fighting for small businesses and rural Montana’s economy.
