Montana Sportsmen Alliance Endorses Jon Tester for U.S. Senate

Campaign News August 1, 2024

Jon Tester: “You don’t need to be a millionaire to hunt, fish, or hike in these treasured landscapes, because they belong to all of us”

BILLINGS – Today, the Montana Sportsmen Alliance endorsed third-generation dirt farmer Jon Tester in his reelection campaign for U.S. Senate.

Jon is Montana’s champion for our public lands, sportsmen and women, and Montana’s outdoor economy. Jon believes you don’t need to be a millionaire to hunt, fish, or hike in these treasured landscapes, because they belong to all of us.

“Montana’s sportsmen and women stand with Jon Tester,” said Joe Perry, founder of the Montana Sportsmen Alliance. “The Montana Sportsmen Alliance is proud to endorse Senator Jon Tester in his re-election campaign for the U.S. Senate. Jon goes to bat for Montana’s great outdoors every day in the U.S. Senate, with a strong reputation of working across the aisle to fight for hunters, anglers, and anyone who loves our wild spaces. We need to keep Jon Tester and his Montana values in Washington.”

“Montana’s public lands aren’t just a hobby, they are our way of life and the backbone of our economy,” said Senator Jon Tester. “You don’t need to be a millionaire to hunt, fish, or hike in these treasured landscapes, because they belong to all of us. I will always fight to keep public lands in public hands and defend our outdoor way of life for our kids and grandkids.”

Jon knows that our public lands belong in public hands – not the pockets of multi-millionaires. Jon has worked with Montanans to defend special places like the Rocky Mountain Front, the North Fork of the Flathead, and the gateway to Yellowstone National Park. Jon successfully led the effort to secure full funding for the Land and Water Conservation Fund to protect Montana’s public lands for generations to come. And Jon continues to push to pass the Blackfoot Clearwater Stewardship Act to protect thousands of acres of public lands and expand outdoor recreation opportunities.

The Montana Sportsmen Alliance endorses candidates who are champions of public lands and Montana’s hunters, anglers, and sportsmen and women.
