Senator Jon Tester Files for Reelection in 2024

January 12, 2024

HELENA – Today at the Montana Capitol Building in Helena, Senator Jon Tester filed to run for office in 2024 as he seeks reelection to be a voice for hardworking Montanans in the U.S. Senate.

“In a state like Montana, we look out for each other. Our word is our bond and a handshake means something,” said Senator Jon Tester. “Folks back in Washington D.C. really don’t understand rural America, and they don’t understand the challenges we face – whether you’re a Main Street business, or a family farm, whether you’re a veteran, whether you’re Native American, whether you’re a sportsman who wants to be able to go out and fish and hunt. All these things are worth fighting for. I look forward to the campaign ahead as we fight for Montana, and make sure Montana stays the greatest state in the greatest country in the world.”

As the U.S. Senate’s only working dirt farmer and a third-generation Montanan, Jon built a reputation for working across party lines to defend the Montana way of life. Because of his work fighting for our veterans, lowering costs for working families, protecting our public lands, and holding Washington accountable, Jon has built a strong coalition of support – Democrats, Independents, and Republicans – who know that he is relentless in standing up for Montanans.

Recent polling from independent outlet Morning Consult showed that Jon is one of the most popular senators in America, with 61% of Montana voters approving of Jon’s job performance.
