Montana’s Credit Unions Endorse Jon Tester for U.S. Senate

Campaign News September 4, 2024

BILLINGS – Today, Montana’s Credit Unions endorsed third-generation dirt farmer from Big Sandy, Jon Tester, in his reelection campaign for U.S. Senate.

“Senator Jon Tester has been an unwavering ally of credit unions in Montana. His steadfast support and proactive efforts in advocating for policies that protect and promote credit unions have been instrumental in our ability to serve our members effectively,” said Gerry Singleton, President/CEO of Montana’s Credit Unions. “Senator Tester’s leadership on issues such as the Durbin Amendment, regulatory relief through S. 2155, the SAFE Banking Act, and housing finance reform exemplify his dedication to ensuring the financial well-being of Montanans. We are proud to support Senator Tester and deeply appreciate his commitment to the credit union movement.”

“Montana’s economy relies on everyone working together, from workers to small businesses to credit unions, to ensure financial success for our state. I am grateful for Montana’s Credit Unions’ endorsement and support,” said Senator Jon Tester. “I am committed to growing and supporting Montana’s economy, and that includes eliminating unnecessary regulations for our credit unions and ensuring Montanans have access to safe and securing banking services.”

Montana’s credit unions are cornerstones of our communities, helping to boost local businesses, create jobs, and promote economic growth. Sen. Tester has always fought to protect Montana’s small banks and credit unions, because one-size-fits-all red tape doesn’t work for rural America.

Jon Tester has been proud to receive endorsements from groups and Montanans across the state, including Planned Parenthood Action Fund, Montana AFL-CIO, Montana Conservation Voters, Social Security Works, Montana Rural Voters, Montana Sportsmen Alliance, the Veterans Coalition of Northwest Montana, the Montana Alliance for Retired Americans, more than 100 Montana Republicans including former Governor Marc Racicot and current elected officials, and more.
