National Wildlife Federation Action Fund Endorses Jon Tester for U.S. Senate

Campaign News September 25, 2024

BILLINGS – Today, the National Wildlife Federation Action Fund (NWF Action Fund) endorsed third-generation dirt farmer Jon Tester in his reelection campaign for U.S. Senate.

“NWF Action Fund is pleased to endorse Senator Jon Tester for reelection, because we know he will relentlessly fight to protect our great outdoors that power Montana’s economy and are fundamental to our way of life,” said Karla Raettig, NWF Action Fund Executive Director.  “Senator Tester has always been a champion for our public lands, keeping them out of the hands of private interests and those who seek to chop them up and sell them off. We’re proud to stand with Senator Tester in his fight to keep Montana the Last Best Place.”

“I am honored to receive the NWF Action Fund’s endorsement,” said Senator Jon Tester. “You don’t need to be a millionaire to hunt, fish, or hike in Montana’s wide open spaces, because they belong to all of us. I will always fight to keep public lands in public hands and defend our wildlife, so that generations of Montanans to come can enjoy our outdoor way of life.”

Jon knows that our public lands belong in public hands – not the pockets of multi-millionaires. Jon has worked with Montanans to defend special places like the Rocky Mountain Front, the North Fork of the Flathead, and the gateway to Yellowstone National Park. Jon successfully led the effort to secure full funding for the Land and Water Conservation Fund to protect Montana’s public lands for generations to come. And Jon continues to push to pass the Blackfoot Clearwater Stewardship Act to protect thousands of acres of public lands and expand outdoor recreation opportunities.

The National Wildlife Federation Action Fund endorses candidates who have strong conservation backgrounds and commitments to introducing and supporting pro-conservation legislation.

Jon Tester has been proud to receive endorsements from groups and Montanans across the state, including Planned Parenthood Action Fund, Montana AFL-CIO, Montana Conservation Voters, Social Security Works, Montana Rural Voters, Montana Sportsmen Alliance, the Veterans Coalition of Northwest Montana, the Montana Alliance for Retired Americans, the National Committee to Preserve Social Security and Medicare, Montana’s Credit Unions, Big Sky 55+, more than 100 Montana Republicans including former Governor Marc Racicot and current elected officials, and more.
